Good food! Service is normally quick. A couple of times our ticket got lost and we were left sitting for 15 minutes till we went back to counter and had to give them our ticket to order again. Our other family members were done eating by the time we got our food. Tables are not always cleaned off in a timely manner but I usually carry wet ones and wipe the table myself...thanks to Covid era, I go prepared.
Was looking for fried chicken and this spot came up. It was right down the road from my hotel so that worked too. Everything was hot and fresh tasting. I got the bbq and 2 piece chicken plate. The chicken was crispy and delicious, the chopped bbq was good but could've used more pepper sauce, kind of dry. I don't think the Mac and cheese was baked but it was still good. The green beans, potato salad and hush puppies were also good. Had a sweet tea to wash it all down. Went to the waterfront to enjoy my meal. Would eat from there again and recommend.
Hungry and tired we happened across the Golden Skillet and ended up having some incredible fried chicken for such a low price we checked the receipt to make sure she rang us up for everything. They have all kinds of stuff on the menu but I recommend just the fried chicken. Nirvana.
Outstanding chicken livers!! I'll be back. I didn't eat at the restaurant, took it back to my hotel room, but it seemed very clean. The staff was super friendly!
